Ground Floor News: Supporting San Francisco’s GLIDE

June 2018

Supporting GLIDE’s Efforts to Save Lives

GLIDE, a beloved nonprofit in the Tenderloin synonymous with unconditional love and radical inclusion, hosted a rally in support of the organization just yesterday, and Ground Floor was both humbled and proud to assist in their efforts. The services that GLIDE provides to so many San Franciscans in need were put in jeopardy earlier this week after an abrupt decision by the United Methodist Church, with which GLIDE affiliates, to reassign the church’s two pastors and leave the GLIDE congregation without clergy. These vacancies, and the United Methodists Church’s desire to make GLIDE a more conservative church, threaten the heart and mission of the organization.

Connecting Tech and Community

Last night, longtime client sf.citi hosted Breaking Into Tech, a speed networking event for individuals interested in working in the industry. The event was part of sf.citi’s One City Forum quarterly event programming and was hosted at LinkedIn in SOMA. Over 150 San Francisco job seekers got the chance to talk to some 50 tech advisors, and also received free resume advice from career coaching job platform HireClub. This event is the epitome of the work Ground Floor loves to do — connecting business and community for the betterment of all.
